Toby is executive director of Community Food Collaborative. He'd rather be farming, eating and playing with dogs than just about anything else.
Jes Carr, Farmer
Jes grew up in Philomont, Virginia raising Icelandic wool sheep and hanging out at the county fair. Realizing her love of all things farm, she studied environmental science and government with a focus on sustainable agriculture at the College of William and Mary. Upon moving to Richmond, she wanted to be involved in the burgeoning local food and farming movement so she started to get all the experience she could, before landing at Community Food Collaborative. In her spare time she enjoys the finer things like catching frisbees, eating great food and drink, hanging with friends, and dreaming up plans for her own farm.
Kara Siewers, Farmer
Kara lives in Richmond's Northside with her husband, Will, and pup, Michigan. She is passionate about growing organic, nutritious, flavorful food for her community and she desires to be a good steward of the earth in that process, striving to revitalize soil health and balance in relationships with nature. In her free time, she enjoys cooking with her husband, spending time with friends and family, biking, and being outdoors.
